Holland America Line has announced longer cruises in Alaska for the 2024 season. HAL will also offer a 28-day Arctic Circle sailing and exclusive perks for early bookers.
Listen to this articleOn January 3, 2023 (just in time for the 64th anniversary of Alaska’s statehood!) Holland America Line announced details of its 2024 Alaska season, including some longer 14-day Alaska cruises and a 28-day itinerary visiting multiple ports in the Arctic Circle.
Holland America also has 117 weeklong Alaska journeys on the books for 2024, allowing cruisers who are short on vacation time to still enjoy the beauty of the 49th US state.
Cruising to Alaska in 2024 with Holland America
Holland America has been cruising in Alaska for more than 75 years, making the company the grande dame of Alaska cruising.
HAL’s “Alaska Up Close” program aims to immerse passengers in the local culture with authentic onboard programming, activities, and shore excursions. Expert guests on each ship lead workshops and lectures exploring the stories of real Alaskans, while tours highlight the best of each destination and fine dining events showcase the culinary traditions of the region.
“Holland America Line is proud of our rich history of bringing the best service at sea to Alaska, and we’re excited to reveal details of our 2024 season including a new monthlong Arctic Circle itinerary that is the most immersive we’ve ever offered in this region,” said Beth Bodensteiner, chief commercial officer of Holland America Line.
“With six ships serving Alaska and the only cruise line with owned land operations in Denali and the Yukon, no one does Alaska better than Holland America Line,” continued Bodensteiner in a press release.
2024 Holland America cruises in Alaska
During the 2024 Alaska season (April through September), guests can embark on Holland America Line’s Alaska cruises aboard Holland America Eurodam, Koningsdam, Nieuw Amsterdam, Noordam, Westerdam, or Zaandam ships.
2024 Alaska cruise highlights include a 28-day Alaska Arctic Circle Solstice cruise on Westerdam. The brand-new itinerary, sailing roundtrip from Seattle, features a journey to the Bering Sea stopping at Anchorage, Dutch Harbor, Haines, Homer, Juneau, Ketchikan, Kodiak, Nome, Seward, Sitka, Valdez, Wrangell, and Prince Rupert, BC.
The nearly month-long cruise also makes time for scenic cruising at Glacier Bay, the Inside Passage, Tracy Arm, College Fjord, Little Diomede Island, Prince William Sound, and Hubbard Glacier.
Or pick a 14-day Great Alaskan Explorer cruise. These in-depth adventures sail roundtrip from Vancouver and stop at eight Alaskan ports.
Of course, Holland America will still offer plenty of week-long Alaska cruises in 2024. Cruisers can choose from one-way northbound and southbound Glacier Discovery cruises that often run alternating schedules between Vancouver and Whittier on Nieuw Amsterdam and Noordam. Ports of call include Ketchikan, Juneau, and Skagway.
Roundtrip seven-day Alaska Inside Passage cruises from Vancouver are also still on the schedule, aboard Holland America’s Koningsdam, Nieuw Amsterdam, Noordam, and Zaandam.
Or choose a weeklong Alaskan Explorer itinerary roundtrip from Seattle on Eurodam or Westerdam, calling at Victoria BC, Ketchikan, Juneau, and Sitka. Alaskan Explorer cruises on Eurodam include scenic cruising at Icy Strait Point and Glacier Bay, while Westerdam explores Dawes Glacier.
Booking a Holland America Alaska cruise for 2024
Holland America’s announcement for the 2024 Alaska season means that all of the company’s Alaskan cruises are now open for booking.
If you’re considering an Alaska cruisetour with HAL for 2024 (combining an Alaska cruise with an overland expedition to Denali and the Yukon), the company has announced that those itineraries will be available in February 2023.
