Pickleball, the world’s fastest-growing sport, is coming to nine ships in the Celebrity Cruises fleet.
On March 14, 2023, Celebrity Cruises announced that it’s adding pickleball courts to nine ships in the fleet. Cruisers will be able to enjoy panoramic ocean views from the open-air courts while playing the popular sport, a hybrid of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong.
Use of the pickleball courts will be complimentary and open to players of all skill levels. Pending court availability, players can use the pickleball courts at their leisure, or as part of organized events and tournaments led by the ship’s activities team.
Guests can bring their own equipment onboard, or use the pickleball net, paddles, and balls provided by the cruise line. Dedicated times will be available for adult play, as well as for family play including kids aged six and up.

“We are so excited to offer this social, fun, and trending activity to both new and seasoned cruisers alike, whether traveling solo, as a couple, or as a group,” said Keith Lane, Senior Vice President of Hotel Operations for Celebrity Cruises.
“And, imagine playing on the ship’s top deck with views of some of the world’s most amazing places all around you. What an experience!” Lane enthused.
The nine Celebrity Cruises’ ships now offering pickleball include two Edge Series ships—Celebrity Beyond and Celebrity Apex; plus Celebrity Constellation, Celebrity Eclipse, Celebrity Equinox, Celebrity Infinity, Celebrity Millennium, Celebrity Solstice, and Celebrity Summit.

Millennium Series ships—Celebrity Constellation, Celebrity Infinity, Celebrity Millennium, and Celebrity Summit—offer pickleball at the Sports Court (Deck 12).

Glad to hear you have added pickleball to your ships. The question I have is how many courts do you have on the Equinox?

Hi Malcolm, thanks for the question. Just to clarify, I'm an independent cruise writer and in no way affiliated with Celebrity Cruises. I haven't been on the Equinox since Celebrity announced the addition of pickleball, but I've heard from other cruisers that on ships like the Equinox that have basketball courts, pickleball is played there. It sounds like on ships without basketball, like Apex and Beyond, it's played in the Rooftop Garden. From photos I've seen, it looks like just one court per ship. If any recent Celebrity cruisers have more (or different) info about pickleball on recent sailings, please comment below! Happy cruising :)
