Celebrity Cruises Will Begin Sailing Four Ships From Three Florida Ports

Cruise line Celebrity is expanding its Caribbean offerings from Port Everglades, Port Canaveral, and Port Tampa Bay for the winter 2024-2025 season.

Premium line Celebrity Cruises is introducing all-new Caribbean experiences for the winter 2024-2025 season on four of the brand’s ships: Celebrity Apex, Celebrity Constellation, Celebrity Equinox, and Celebrity Summit.

Cruisers will soon be able to embark from three Florida ports: Port Canaveral in Central Florida, Port Tampa Bay in West Florida, and Port Everglades in South Florida. More than 40 additional itineraries will be available for booking on August 22, 2023.

The new program, which the cruise line said caters to the diverse needs of today’s consumer, offers a wide range of experiences—from revitalizing short getaways to weekly 7-night cruises and up to 9-night escapes.

Select itineraries will give cruisers the option to experience Perfect Day at CocoCay, along with other Caribbean locations ranging from Belize and Bimini to Grand Cayman and San Juan.

“We are so excited to unveil this new program. It provides our guests with more options to experience the natural beauty of the Caribbean, which is elevated by our personalized experiences on board,” says Laura Hodges Bethge, president of Celebrity Cruises.

“As part of this expansion, we are thrilled to add Port Canaveral to our list of home ports—it is a perfect market to reach a wide mix of both in- and out-of-state travelers looking for fun in the Caribbean sun,” Bethge continued in a press release.

Celebrity will offer more opportunities to sail from South Florida

With the new program, Celebrity will increase its options from Fort Lauderdale’s Port Everglades to include more sailings on two award-winning ships: Celebrity Apex and Celebrity Summit. From October 23, 2024 to March 8, 2025, Apex will offer five new itineraries, ranging from six to seven nights, to destinations including St. Maarten, San Juan, Grand Cayman, and Mexico, as well as select sailings to Perfect Day at CocoCay.

Perfect Day at CocoCay, a vibrant private island paradise in the Bahamas, combines the best of beach-side serenity and sun-soaked exhilaration. Guests can enjoy miles of sandy beaches and crystal-clear turquoise waters, take a plunge in the Bahamas’ largest freshwater pool, and swim up to the bar for a refreshing tropical cocktail.

For an added fee, the island’s Coco Beach Club offers the utmost in leisure and privacy, with a heated infinity pool, specialty restaurant, 20 overwater cabanas, and more. Perfect Day at CocoCay will also debut Hideaway Beach, an adults-only paradise with private cabanas and a new signature dining venue in January 2024.

In addition to the line’s ‘resort at sea’ experience, their cruise guests can expect to experience unrivaled customer service and ease of sailing at Port Everglades,” said Port Everglades CEO and Port Director Jonathan Daniels.

Celebrity comes to Port Canaveral

For the first time ever, Celebrity Cruises will sail from Port Canaveral near Orlando, with 20 new itineraries sailing between November 21, 2024 and April 19, 2025. The 2850-passenger Celebrity Equinox will take cruisers to popular locations including the Bahamas, Belize, Grand Cayman, Mexico, San Juan, and St. Maarten.

Just in time for spring break, Equinox will offer two sailings (March 1st and March 15th, 2025) that visit Perfect Day at CocoCay.

“We are thrilled to welcome Celebrity Cruises as our new partner and honored to be part of their Caribbean expansion plans,” said Captain John Murray, Port Canaveral CEO.

“The demand for Celebrity Cruise sailings from our Port has been growing. Now, with Celebrity Equinox homeported here, there are great opportunities for even more cruise travelers to experience the cruise line’s high-quality experience, while experiencing the comfort and ease of travel provided by our Port.”

New Caribbean offerings from Port Tampa Bay for Celebrity Cruises

Celebrity’s existing Caribbean program from Port Tampa Bay also will be revamped. Guests will be able to embark on more frequent 6- to 7-night cruises aboard Celebrity Constellation. The revised program adds four additional routes and a total of 14 sailings for the season from January 2, 2025 to April 6, 2025.

Constellation will visit Belize, Honduras, Key West, and ports in Mexico, as well as New Orleans during Mardi Gras 2025.
