Virgin Voyages Celebrates Launch of Third Ship: Resilient Lady

Resilient Lady, the third ship from cruise line Virgin Voyages, will set sail on her inaugural cruise from Athens, kicking off the summer season in the Mediterranean.

The highly-anticipated introduction of Virgin Voyages‘ third ship, Resilient Lady, will coincide with the beginning of the European summer cruise season. Resilient Lady will sail its debut voyage from its new homeport in Athens, Greece, as the newest Lady Ship to join the award-winning fleet for Richard Branson‘s cruise line.

Virgin Voyages’ adults-only ships are inspired by superyacht design with interiors created by renowned architects and designers like Tom Dixon and Concerte Amsterdam.

Resilient Lady’s inaugural season

Resilient Lady will debut on May 14, 2023. The “Greek Island Glow” itinerary, which starts in Athens and includes stops in Santorini, Rhodes, Bodrum, and an overnight in Mykonos before returning to Athens, is featured on the ship’s seven-night “MerMaiden journey.”

The “Adriatic Sea & Greek Gems” itinerary—premiering this season—travels to locations in the Adriatic Sea via the coastline of Croatia, Greece’s chic islands, and a bay in the Balkans. Additionally, this trip includes a late-night stop in Dubrovnik, providing Sailors plenty of time to explore the picturesque city by day and partake in its exciting nightlife.

After the inaugural season in Greece, Resilient Lady will head Down Under, arriving at Station Pier in Port Melbourne, Victoria, then setting sail through Australia and New Zealand from December 11, 2023 through March 27, 2024.

“We have shown the world all that we have to offer when it comes to having the holiday of your dreams, and I can’t wait to show off our lovely new Resilient Lady in one of the most magical places in the world as she sails around the Greek Isles, Croatia, Turkey and more,” said Sir Richard Branson in a press release.

“I’m thrilled this day is finally here and that Resilient Lady has officially joined our award-winning fleet,” said Tom McAlpin, CEO of Virgin Voyages.

Together with its Creative Collective of some of the best producers in the world, including Randy Weiner (of Sleep No More and Queen of the Night), House of Yes, and MISCHIEF, Resilient Lady will not only travel to new places but also introduce new entertainment, including five new shows, two brand-new soirées in The Manor, exclusive onboard parties, more live music acts, and a festival stage with a changing lineup of acts.

Along with new entertainment choices, Virgin Voyages is also introducing brand-new food and beverage options. Razzle Dazzle by Night, a new menu concept, was curated in collaboration with Chef Eric Haugen. The company is also introducing “Opa Hour,” a tribute to the Greek culinary tradition. Opa Hour will be held in the Dock and Dock House on all three ships and will include a Greek-inspired menu in addition to the regular choices.
