Holland America Line has announced its 2024 Canada and New England season will offer almost 30 sailings departing or ending in Boston. The itineraries showcase overnight calls, scenic landscapes, and even a cruise that visits Iceland and Greenland.

HAL’s Canada and New England sailings will be on MS Volendam and MS Zuidendam during the 2024 season, which spans from April through October.

Cruisers looking to explore North America’s Atlantic coast on a family getaway or an extended vacation will find plenty of choice in the cruise line’s seven- to 24-day itineraries.

Both Volendam and Zuidendam will sail a series of seven-day “Canada and New England Discovery” cruises, showcasing the region’s famous seafood, maritime history, and natural beauty.

Ten- and 11-day cruises on Volendam add a stop in Newfoundland to the itinerary. Volendam will also sail the 24-day cruise including Greenland and a circumnavigation of Iceland.

Holland America Line’s ships are small enough to enable cruising the scenic St. Lawrence River, and calls at Montréal and Québec City feature on nearly every itinerary.

“A Canada and New England cruise has it all for travelers looking to stay closer to home but experience a taste of Europe, beautiful scenery, amazing food, natural beauty, and incredible history,” said Beth Bodensteiner, Holland America Line’s chief commercial officer.

“Our expanded season allows travelers to explore the region from spring through autumn, including the popular fall foliage, and by offering longer cruises we can extend up to Greenland and Iceland for a truly unique vacation,” Bodensteiner continued in a press release.

Volendam‘s 24-day cruise will depart July 27th, roundtrip from Boston. The epic journey circumnavigates Iceland, stopping at six ports of call in the “Land of Fire and Ice“. The cruise will feature ten additional ports of call in Maine, Nova Scotia, Labrador, Newfoundland, and Greenland.

For a slightly shorter cruise option, Volendam offers 13- and 14-day repositioning cruises along the Atlantic coast between Montréal and Fort Lauderdale in April and October. Both sailings include an overnight in Québec City.

Zuiderdam will sail an 11-day repositioning cruise in October from Québec City to Fort Lauderdale, with an additional stop in Charleston, South Carolina.

Volendam‘s 10- and 11-day “Newfoundland and New England Discovery” cruises between Boston and Montréal will visit ports including Québec City, Baie-Comeau, Havre-Saint-Pierre, Corner Brook, St. Anthony, St. John’s, Halifax, and Portland.

Seven-day Canada & New England Discovery itineraries on Volendam in the summer and fall will visit Bar Harbor and the Canadian destinations of Québec City, Charlottetown, Sydney, and Halifax. (The September 28 departure exchanges Bar Harbor for Rockland, Maine.)

Zuiderdam‘s week-long cruises between Boston and Québec City will include an overnight in Québec at the beginning or end of the cruise. Ports will include Bar Harbor, Charlottetown, Sydney, and Halifax. (The September 21 departure doesn’t include the Québec overnight, and also exchanges Bar Harbor for Rockland.)

Volendam will host one seven-day “Historic Coasts” cruise roundtrip from Boston. The sailing departs July 20 and features port stops in Portland, Bar Harbor, Saint John, Halifax, and Sydney.
