Costa Cruises Launches Costa Voyages

Italian cruise line Costa will offer an enhanced Costa Voyages concept on select longer sailings beginning in September 2023.

Costa Cruises has announced the launch of its Costa Voyages program, a new cruise concept featuring longer itineraries, updated culinary experiences, and unique onboard entertainment.

Beginning in September 2023, the cruise line will offer the Costa Voyages concept on select 10- to 14-day sailings.

Voyages cruise destinations will include the Canary Islands, Türkiye, Egypt, the Azores, Israel, and Morocco, along with various European itineraries.

Enhanced dining options on Costa Voyages

According to a press release from the brand, guests will have the opportunity to enjoy exceptional gastronomic experiences on every Costa Voyages journey.

During three different dinners in the main dining room, cruisers will be able to choose from an exclusive new menu devised by world-renowned chefs Bruno Barbieri, Hélène Darroze, and Ángel León.

Guests can also indulge in 14 new desserts developed in partnership with master pastry chef Iginio Massari, featuring high-quality ingredients and cutting-edge pastry technology.

On all Costa Voyages sailings, guests will have the opportunity to toast with the captain during a memorable dinner, and also partake in a gala Banquet Night Party. This elevated buffet will feature incredible ice sculptures and a live DJ set.

Costa Voyages will offer upgraded entertainment

According to the cruise line, each Costa Voyages sailing will feature extraordinary entertainment, thanks in part to a series of brand partnerships.

Special partnerships on Costa Voyages

In collaboration with Rolling Stone magazine, Costa will offer an exclusive musical show on each Voyages cruise.

Photo brand Canon will engage cruisers in photography sessions, where they’ll learn how to best capture their vacation memories.

Bridge players will be happy to hear that Costa is also partnering with the Italian Bridge Federation on Voyages cruises. With expert players from the federation aboard, beginners can take advantage of introductory workshops, while experienced players will have the opportunity to compete in a tournament.

Glamorous fun on Costa Voyages

Each Costa Voyages cruise will offer three elegant evenings on board. The first is a gala night at the Grand Bar, where guests can dance with the ship’s officers.

The second formal night is Fashion Night, a fashion show where guests will be the stars. Cruisers can compete on the Grand Bar’s red carpet in a style battle, followed by a DJ set.

The final elegant evening is Glamour Night, with a dance competition featuring tango, waltz, rumba, and cha-cha, where guests can showcase the skills learned from the onboard dance masters during the day.

Formal attire will be required for each of these special evenings.

Game shows and more on Costa Voyages

Costa’s entertainment staff will organize games inspired by the 1960s and 1990s, including “Double Interview” for couples, “Musichiere”, and “C-Music” with quizzes, challenges, and musical auctions.

Additionally, there will be a variety of workshops and creative labs for guests to enjoy.

Voyages guests will also have the opportunity to experience a guided tour of the ship, discovering behind-the-scenes areas including the galleys, the bridge, and the crew bar.

Planned itineraries for Costa Voyages

Costa has announced that its new Costa Voyages cruises will sail from September to November 2023, from April to June 2024, and from September to November 2024.

The special sailings will be aboard six ships in the cruise line’s fleet: Costa Favolosa, Costa Fortuna, Costa Firenze, Costa Fascinosa, Costa Pacifica, and Costa Diadema.

Here’s a rundown of where you can go on a Costa Voyages cruise and what to expect:

Egypt and the Holy Land

Cruisers can visit Egypt and the Holy Land in 2023 aboard Costa Pacifica, and in 2024 aboard Costa Fortuna with Costa Voyages.

Optional organized tours will take guests to the Egyptian Museum, the pyramids of Cheops, Chefren, and Mycerinus, or the great pyramids of Giza.

Tours can also take guests to visit the holy sites in Jerusalem, including the Cenacle and the tomb of King David, and along the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and the Wailing Wall.

Guests cruising on Costa Fortuna will also be able to visit Bethlehem, the birthplace of Christianity.

Morocco

Morocco will be featured in 2023 by Costa Favolosa and in 2024 by both Favolosa and Costa Fortuna.

Discover charming Tangier, Morocco on a Costa Voyages cruise—you can walk to the pretty Plage Municipale (with views of Spain!) from the city’s small cruise port

At the port of Tangier, guests will be able to explore the markets of the white city and savor the flavors of Moroccan cuisine.

Two new tours will be available in Casablanca, allowing cruisers to immerse themselves in Moroccan traditions. Guests will be able to visit the majestic Hassan II Mosque, with a 6,000 square meter hammam adorned with mosaics, followed by lunch at Rick’s Café, inspired by the movie Casablanca.

Canary Islands

Nature lovers will enjoy a cruise to the Canary Islands, available on both Costa Firenze and Costa Fortuna in 2023, and on Costa Diadema in 2024.

A must-do shore excursion is trekking in Lanzarote, exploring impressive stretches of solidified lava and colorful volcanic cones in Timanfaya National Park.

In Santa Cruz de Tenerife, guests can venture into the depths of the earth in the Cueva del Viento. Europe’s most extensive lava tunnel offers 18 km of labyrinthine underground galleries formed 27,000 years ago.

Portugal

Costa Voyages in Portugal will be offered on Firenze, Fortuna, Favolosa, and Fascinosa in 2023, in addition to Costa Diadema in 2024.

Portugal tours will include an exploration of the unique traditions of Madeira, like descending mountains in traditional wicker baskets, called cestinhos; exploring the old city of Lisbon by tuk-tuk, and a whale-watching excursion along the “whale route” with a marine biologist.

In 2024, Costa Fascinosa will sail towards the Azores, where guests can search for the secret ingredient of the famous purple volcanic tea and enjoy a lunch with cozido das Furnas, a mix of meats cooked in underground pots.

Türkiye

Türkiye will be a Voyages destination for Costa Fortuna in both 2023 and 2024. Guests will have the opportunity to experience Istanbul from four perspectives: on foot, by tram, by metro, and by boat—immersing themselves in the city’s culture and daily life.

In Izmir, guests can discover Turkish rituals and then take a stroll through the village of Alaçati, which blends the eastern and western cultures.

Europe

Costa ships Firenze, Fascinosa, Diadema, and Favolosa will offer a wide selection of cruises that combine northern and southern Europe into a single vacation, visiting charming destinations such as Copenhagen, Le Havre (to explore Normandy and Mont Saint-Michel), the picturesque UNESCO World Heritage site of Cádiz, La Coruña (to visit Santiago de Compostela), and Lisbon.

You can discover the unique beauty and long history of Cádiz, Spain (one of my very favorite small European cities!) on a Costa Voyages cruise

Costa Fortuna will also sail to experience the best of the Balearic Islands and the Greek isles, exploring remote beaches and picturesque villages.

Shore excursion highlights include a boat trip to the Blue Caves of Zante, a visit to the Palace of Knossos in Crete, and a bike tour in Palma de Mallorca.

To ensure an unforgettable experience during port calls, all Costa Voyages tours include guides who are carefully selected and certified by Costa.
