Sterling Steakhouse is Princess Cruises’ specialty dining steakhouse concept on select ships. The for-a-fee restaurant is known for its steaks, chops, and seafood served in a refined atmosphere.
Listen to this articleAlthough most Princess cruise ships offer the Crown Grill as their specialty dining steakhouse on board, two ships in the fleet—Diamond Princess and Sapphire Princess—feature Sterling Steakhouse instead.
Seasoned Princess cruisers sailing on either ship will notice that the Sterling Steakhouse menu is very similar to that of Crown Grill, with just a few menu omissions and ingredient substitutions.
Appetizers
- Black Tiger Prawn and Papaya Salpicon with mustard seed aioli
- Hand-Cut Beef Filet Tartare plancha sear with smoky dressing and crispy polenta sticks
- Seared Jumbo Sea Scallops with salmon caviar and herb beurre blanc
Soup and salad
- Shrimp and Pancetta Bisque with chickpea croutons
- Black and Blue Onion Soup with fresh thyme, Jack Daniels, and Roquefort crust
- The Grill Salad with grape-balsamic dressing, mesclun greens, roasted bell peppers, and avocado
Seafood
- Chilean Sea Bass and Brioche-Breaded King Prawns with leek and mushroom ragout and Champagne mousseline
- Grilled Tiger Prawns in whiskey, chili and garlic marinade with fried onion rice
Steaks and chops
- New York Strip (12 oz / 340g) traditional thick-cut sirloin
- Kansas City Strip (16 oz / 450g) traditional bone-in sirloin
- Rib-Eye (14 oz / 400g) rich with heavy marbling
- Filet Mignon (8 oz / 220g) classic, tender and delicate, princess cut
- Porterhouse (22 oz / 620g) filet and sirloin, grilled on the bone
- New Zealand Double Lamb Chops (9 oz / 255g) with rosemary essence
- Madeira-Glazed Wisconsin Veal Chop (12 oz / 340g) with fines herbs
- Sterling Steakhouse Surf & Turf 8 oz filet mignon and 6-7 oz Maine lobster tail, with drawn butter and your choice of sauce and sides
Tip: They’re not listed on the menu, but your server can bring you a variety of yummy steak sauces! You’ll usually have a choice of peppercorn, demi-glace, and Béarnaise.

- Apple & Rhubarb Cobbler with blueberry drizzle and vanilla ice cream

- Salted Caramel Crème Brûlée Cheesecake with vanilla cream and honeycomb
- Key Lime Pie Bar with date-pecan crust, crispy chocolate mousse, caramelized meringue, and raspberry coulis
- Milk Chocolate and Peanut Butter Bar* with honey-roasted peanuts, chocolate mousse, cinnamon sponge cake, spiced cream, cookie crumbles, vanilla gelato and fresh grapefruit segments

How much does dinner at Sterling Steakhouse cost?
Sterling Steakhouse has a cover charge of $29 per person, which includes appetizers, soup, salad, one main course, side dishes, and dessert. Side dishes are served family-style for the table to share.
Guests can order as many appetizers, soup, salad, side dishes, and desserts as they care to eat, but the cover charge includes one main course per person. Additional main courses are $10 each.
The cover charge doesn’t include alcoholic beverages or soft drinks, but the restaurant does honor Princess Cruises’ beverage packages.
Note: Princess has announced that new pricing for their specialty restaurants will go into effect for voyages sailing on February 20, 2023 and beyond.
What is the dress code at Sterling Steakhouse on Princess?
Sterling Steakhouse has a cruise casual dress code. Pool or beach attire, gym shorts, ball caps, and casual jeans (with fraying and/or holes) are not allowed.
On the cruise line’s formal nights, the dress code at Sterling Steakhouse remains casual, while the Main Dining Rooms have an elevated dress code. This can be an excellent table-service meal option for those who prefer not to dress up—though you can certainly wear formal attire if you’d like!
