Hideaway Beach, Royal Caribbean’s new shoreside escape on private island destination Perfect Day at CocoCay, will open in January 2024.
Early next year, Royal Caribbean International‘s award-winning private island will welcome the first adults-only area on Perfect Day at CocoCay, complete with private beaches and pools, dedicated bars and dining options, 20 cabanas, and more.
The cruise line has revealed the first glimpse at the private island’s new for-a-fee escape, Hideaway Beach, at Perfect Day at CocoCay in the Bahamas. The beachfront paradise, which will premiere in January with the introduction of new ship Icon of the Seas, will be an all-day experience that includes a private beach and pools, new dedicated areas for drinks and snacks, exclusive cabanas, and live music.
“Hideaway Beach is a completely new vibe and experience that vacationers are looking for on Perfect Day at CocoCay. Everything from its hidden-like location to the exclusive beach and pools to the private cabanas is designed for adults who want a day just for them,” said Michael Bayley, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean International.
“There are experiences for everyone on a Royal Caribbean vacation, and that’s at the heart of our private island and its popularity. Whether it’s thrill or chill, family time or time to celebrate, families and friends can create their ‘perfect’ vacation day without compromise, and Hideaway Beach adds to what continues to be an unmatched combination of ways to do just that,” Bayley continued.
Hideaway Beach, located on the northwest beach of CocoCay, will let cruisers age 18 and up unwind on the area’s private beach, with access to two dedicated pools, 20 cabanas, and seven open-air bars and restaurants.
What to expect at Hideaway Beach on CocoCay
Amenities at the new Hideaway Beach area will include:
Hideaway Beach: Guests will have exclusive access to almost an acre of sandy beaches and crystal-blue Bahamian waters. Cruisers can enjoy the views from any of the resort-style loungers and umbrellas along the shore, or from the in-water hammocks and swings while listening to the rhythms of a live DJ at the pool.
Hideaway Pool: The heated infinity-edge pool will offer picture-perfect views, with in-water seats and loungers as well as poolside loungers. Join the party at the swim-up bar while listening to all-day tunes from the DJ.
Hideaway Cabanas: Vacationers can elevate their day in paradise at one of ten poolside cabanas with amenities including a mini-fridge, floating beach mats, charging outlets, and cabana attendant service available at the push of a button.
The Hideout: This sanctuary at one end of Hideaway Beach will be near the action but offers an exclusive, elevated feel. Those opting for a more VIP experience can relax in one of ten Hideout Cabanas. Enjoy a heated infinity-edge plunge pool—only accessible to The Hideout guests—and have the convenience of benefits like cabana attendant service, in-water loungers, an outdoor shower, and resort-style seating.
Food and drink options at Hideaway Beach
Hideaway Beach will offer a total of seven open-air food and drink spots, including:
On the Rocks: This alfresco bar along the rocky shore will offer a bustling scene of live musicians, TVs to watch live sports, activities like pool and shuffleboard, and stunning ocean views, as well as delicious cocktails including cold margaritas and mai tais.
Hideaway Bar: At Hideaway Pool’s two-level swim-up bar, cruisers can enjoy their beverages poolside or stay in the water to make the most of island time.
Slice of Paradise: Fresh-from-the-oven pizzas, including island variations like Bahamian guava BBQ chicken, will be served at this all-new rustic pizza hideaway with a bar and complementary food.
Snack Shack: A new location of the CocoCay staple, this complimentary dining venue will offer chicken sandwiches, burgers, fried mozzarella sticks, fresh salads, and more—as well as shaded seating and Adirondack chairs and tables on the sand.
Beach Bars: Two full-service beach bars will be located on either side of Hideaway Beach for easy access.
Visiting Hideaway Beach at CocoCay
The all-new Hideaway Beach will be the latest addition to Royal Caribbean’s private island destination after its $250 million transformation in 2019.
The cruise line has since introduced new experiences to the island, including an elevated beach retreat at Coco Beach Club and the reimagined South Beach in 2020.
In 2024, cruisers will be able to choose from Royal Caribbean’s most expansive lineup of vacations visiting Perfect Day at CocoCay, thanks to a combination of 22 ships sailing from more than nine different cities including Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Port Canaveral, New York, and Galveston.
Getaways visiting the island will range from short three-night cruises on the new Utopia of the Seas that debuts in July 2024 to seven nights aboard Icon of the Seas, coming in January.
